Coldplay’s Chris Martin is a man of taste as he celebrates BTS and Eurovision’s James Newman
Coldplay star Chris Martin has shared a sweet message bigging up his fellow artists, including BTS and Eurovision star James Newman.
A man of great taste, clearly.
The Viva La Vida hitmaker, who recently performed at the Brit Awards, made it clear that he’s part of the BTS ARMY as he shared the love for the band’s record-breaking new hit.
Chris also took a moment to celebrate the UK’s Eurovision entrant James, who he described as ‘graceful’ after receiving no points at the song contest.
‘Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing ok,’ the 44-year-old wrote on Twitter. ‘Thankyou for your messages about higher power and things. Wherever you are in the world I and we send you love and hope we can see you in person before too long [sic].
‘Here are some films and songs and books that I have found helpful and wonderful; “materna requiem: 6. paradisum interlude”, a piece by Rebecca Dale, the fourth episode/movie from “Small Axe” called “Alex Wheatle”.
””Butter” the new song by BTS, “why I’m no longer talking to white people about race” by Reni Eddo-Lodge, israel and palestine: the complete History by Ian Carroll.
‘I enjoyed watching eurovision,’ he continued. ‘In solidarity with those who enable victory by being defeated, please consider streaming “embers” by James Newman, who was so graceful about it all. CM’.
While James, 35, shared the love by retweeting Chris’ message and simply adding four prayer-hand emoji, BTS fans have taken the singer’s support and run with it.
Could there be a collab on the horizon? We hope so!
Coldplay has definitely been branching out recently, after the release of their song Higher Power, debuting it in space and insisting they want to use emoji as song titles on their new album – because why not?
The band enlisted the help of French astronaut Thomas Pesquet for an out-of-this-world stunt, which saw Higher Power played on the International Space Station (ISS) before being beamed back to Earth via satellite.
Of course, Coldplay weren’t able to travel on the ISS themselves but they did get a tour of the spacecraft via video link courtesy of aerospace engineer Thomas.
In an interview with the astronaut, Chris said: ‘Right now we aren’t able to play for anybody on Earth, so we thought we’d just play for you.
‘It’s like our one-man concert.’
Next step – an actual concert on the moon, right?
