‘Cult mom’ Lori Vallow pocketed kids’ Social Security benefits for MONTHS after they were killed
THE “cult” mom indicted on Tuesday for the murder of her two children allegedly pocketed her dead children’s Social Security benefits for months after she is suspected of killing them.
A day after a grand jury chose to indict Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell for their actions regarding the deaths of Vallow’s kids – Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow – and Daybell’s wife Tammy, an indictment indicated Vallow collected her dead kids’ Social Security benefits after they went missing.

Court documents allege Vallow did not inform the Social Security Administration of her kids’ passing[/caption]
“Vallow failed or refused to contact the Social Security Administration as required by law to inform the Social Security Administration of Tylee Ryan’s death,” read a line from the indictment.
“Between September 25, 2019 and January 22, 2020, “Vallow did wrongfully continue to collect five monthly Social Security Survivor benefits on behalf of Tylee Ryan,” read another.
The indictment indicates the same charges apply for JJ, with Vallow allegedly changing the bank account information from her children’s to her own.
Also revealed in the indictment was that prosecutors are looking to Vallow’s brother Alex Cox as having possibly played a role in his niece and nephew’s death as well as Tammy Daybell’s.

Both Vallow and Daybell are charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy counts in the deaths of Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.
Vallow and Daybell, a former pastor, were members of an apparent “doomsday cult” and married just two weeks after Daybell was widowed.
Daybell also faces first-degree murder in his wife’s death, and both he and Vallow face conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in Tammy’s death, who died in October 2019.
Vallow’s kids’ bodies were found on Daybell’s property in Salem, Idaho in June 2020.
The kids, Tylee, 16, and JJ, 7, are believed to have been killed on two separate dates in September 2019.
The couple is believed to have planned their murder nearly a year earlier, with the conspiracy charges dating to October 2018.
Cox is named as a co-conspirator in all three deaths, with the indictment indicating there are additional suspected co-conspirators that are “both known and unknown” to prosecutors.
Tammy Daybell’s body was exhumed in December 2019. The day after, Cox had suddenly died.
A medical examiner ruled that Cox died of natural causes, like of a cardiac condition.
The indictment alleges Cox went to Daybell on October 9, 2019 and attempted to shoot Tammy on that day.

Later that night, Tammy called police to say a “masked man” fired towards her with a “paintball gun.”
Ten days later, Chad Daybell said he found his wife dead in their bed, with the indictment alleging Cox was in “a church parking lot approximately 2.5 miles from the Daybell residence on the night of October 18, 2019.”
The document does not give any details as to how the three victims were killed, however, it claims both Vallow and Daybell “endorse[d] and espouse[d] religious beliefs for the purpose of justifying or encouraging the homicide” of all three victims.
