In recent weeks, following a negative dementia test, Kim has grown increasingly paranoid that someone is out to get her.
In tonight’s episode, Kim saw a mystery figure sneaking around Home Farm on the CCTV she recently installed to spy on her enemies.
A panicked Kim grabbed her shotgun and pointed it at her office door.
As it creaked open, Kim opened fire only to realise it was Gabby’s mother Bernice standing in the doorway.
Bernice screamed in horror and clutched her stomach as Kim realised what she’d done.
Fans were stunned by the scenes and flocked to Twitter to express their horror.
One tweeted: “F***ing hell s***s just got real in Emmerdale and it’s not even 9pm yet!! Kim just shot Bernice!”
Another said: “KIM SHOT BERNICE! WHAT THE F***!”
A third chimed in: “Well Bernice if you rang the bell instead of breaking & entering wouldn’t get shot!”
Viewers know that Bernice left the village last year to care for her ex who’d been involved in a horror accident, but has returned after discovering her daughter Gabby is pregnant with Jamie Tate’s baby and living at Home Farm.
Will Bernice free Gabby from Kim’s clutches?
Next week, Kim organises a formal dinner at Home Farm after realising someone is poisoning her brandy.
She announces that she’s stepping down from her business and looking to anoint a successor.
As bickering breaks out on the table, Kim lays a trap to catch the culprit who’s been poisoning her.
Will she discover who’s out to get her?
Alongside Gabby, who’s desperate to get her hands on the Tate empire for her unborn baby, Dawn and Will Taylor are both in the frame for Kim’s poisoning after they were seen fiddling with her drinks trolley.
