Former NBA Player Believes LeBron James Isn’t as Aggressive Offensively as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and now LeBron James find themselves switching spots in the GOAT debate too often. The comparisons set between Michael and Kobe have been quite similar on the grounds of their skillset. But, LeBron came up with his own to be placed parallel to some greats in the league.

These star players have multiple championships to their name, Michael with 6, Kobe with 5, and LeBron still on the go with 4. However, analysts and players have expressed a totally different feeling when narrating MJ’s game. It’s like he has created magic, and nobody’s been better than him ever since.

Michael Jordan rules the GOAT rankings to date

Former NBA player, Jim Jackson, has been a part of all eras, be it MJ, Kobe, or LeBron. Moreover, he faced all three of them in matchups as well. When asked about how he would rank the greatest players on the recent episode of ‘Dan Patrick Show ‘ he had his choices in place.

“I’d say Mike No.1. Just for the sheer fact that Mike, offensively and defensively, the way he attacked in multiple positions where you can put him. And, he was very efficient,” Jim said. 

LeBron James is a methodical player

Talking about aggressiveness, he added, “Now, LeBron is very efficient, but LeBron won’t be as aggressive offensively. Mike was always like that Kobe was like that.

“LeBron is so methodical in this thing, the mindset was like Magic [Johnson]. ‘Okay, Imma beat you with this, and if I get it going from here I’m fine.’ Would Mike beat you from the 3-point line back in the day? No, not really. But, free-throw line, he’d get to his spots, and he really didn’t take bad shots.”

Well, all GOAT debates end on, ‘Michael and Kobe were something else,’ and that’s how Jim concluded it. It’s not about LeBron James‘ inabilities; it’s about what mentality Kobe and Jordan played with during their days on the court.

While the Lakers’ star has surely dominated the league in recent years, MJ and Kobe top the list for most of them.
