How Many WWE Matches Has Kane Lost In His Long 25 Years Career?
The critics of the wrestling world have been asking an age-old question – do wins and losses really matter? Is it enough to keep wrestlers credible? The fans speculate that wins are needed to ensure that wrestlers look like a genuine menace.
But critics state that it’s just for entertainment and doesn’t really matter. Notably, over the years, some of the grandest names in WWE have had absolutely horrible win-loss records. One such name is the ‘Big Red Monster’ Kane.
More losses than wins for Kane?
WWE Hall of Famer for the class of 2021, Kane has accumulated a total of 1220 losses in his expansive 20+ year career. Notably, despite his regrettable loss count, ‘The Big Red Monster’ holds the record for most matches in WWE history.
Kane’s talent is a testimony to the legend he is. He has taken part in some iconic feuds with the likes of ‘The Undertaker‘, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and Edge to name a few. The Hall of Famer has wrestled a whopping total of 2811 (two-thousand eight-hundred eleven) matches during his career. This means that 42% of his matches have resulted in losses.
Kane’s illustrious career in WWE
In the summer of ’97, Paul Bearer told the world that ‘The Phenom’ had a younger brother named Kane whom he had assumed perished years earlier in a funeral home fire. However, he was still alive.
Underneath a red and black mask, Kane stormed the ring at the end of Bad Blood 1997, slashing the Hell in a cell door off its hinges in order to confront his astonished brother. Along with ‘The Dead Man’, various innocent onlookers, including the Hardy Boys, ate a tombstone that night.
Although having the most losses in WWE history isn’t the most charming distinction in the business, this doesn’t diminish the legendary grandeur of Kane. ‘The Big Red Machine’ has been a main eventer throughout the various eras of WWE, including the Ruthless Aggression era and the PG era.
Glenn Jacobs carved out a two-decade niche for himself as a prominent regular in WWE, an honest big man who patiently acted out several questionable storylines that the company would sometimes give him.
We, as WWE fans, often took Kane for granted mainly because of his longevity and reliability, but performers of his caliber and endurance, especially given his size, don’t come along every day. And for that, Kane belongs up there with the all-time cherished greats.
