“One of The Best”- Chris Jericho Reminds Everyone of The Rock’s Greatness

In the past week, the wrestling world has been contemplating who’s the best wrestler in the world. AEW commentator Jim Ross chose Randy Orton ahead of Kenny Omega, drawing the ire of the internet wrestling community. As for Chris Jericho, he’s changed his pick already.

Chris Jericho calls The Rock one of the greatest

According to Chris Jericho, The Rock is one of the best wrestlers of all time. Back in 2000, The Rock and Chris Jericho had an incredible rivalry that served as Y2J’s introduction to the WWE Universe. He and the People’s Champion would meet many times in the future, and every match was a banger.

Jericho took to Twitter to praise The Rock. He claimed while he’s the biggest box office draw in Hollywood, we shouldn’t forget how great he was in the ring. And indeed he was, holding the WWE Championship, WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Intercontinental Championship and more.

In one of the greatest moments in the history of WWE Raw, Chris Jericho interrupted The Rock mid-promo to a huge ovation from the crowd. Despite being in the ring with one of the best, Jericho got in his face and declared himself the next big thing in WWE.

Fast forward to 2021, and Jericho is still wrestling at 50. As for Dwayne Johnson, he will star in the upcoming DC movie Black Adam and doesn’t plan on returning to the ring soon.

Best in the world drama

On the Grilling JR podcast, AEW commentator and senior advisor Jim Ross made a controversial statement. According to him, the best wrestler in the world right now is WWE’s Randy Orton. Selecting Orton ahead of his company’s main titleholder shocked the world.

In my opinion @KennyOmegamanX is the best wrestler in the world today. Others may feel differently, but I’ve been in the ring w everybody currently working on top & there’s nobody close. Thats why Kenny is @AEW Champ-the most protected title in the biz. It’s Impossible to argue.

Fans on social media expressed their annoyance at JR choosing Orton, and Chris Jericho was one who spoke out. He took to Twitter to write, “In my opinion Kenny Omega is the best wrestler in the world today. Others may feel differently, but I’ve been in the ring w everybody currently working on top & there’s nobody close.”

Omega being Omega responded, “I’d rather believe the bigot cuck, dimwit e-drones and the guy that thinks I’m the WWE champion.” A classic response from a man wrestling on top of his game. As for Jericho, Stadium Stampede beckons him in a couple of days at Double or Nothing.
