Oscar Isaac has finally been confirmed for new Marvel project Moon Knight with the help of a pretty fabulous announcement photo.

The series, set to air on Disney+, focuses on mercenary Marc Spector aka Moon Knight (Isaac), who uses his various alter egos to fight crime. It is based on the comic book series created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin. The character has often been dubbed as Marvel’s version of Batman, and it’s only making us more intrigued.

On Thursday night Marvel casually tweeted out a picture of the Star Wars actor posing in front of Moon Knight artwork and concept art for a close up.

Oscar’s eyes and (shapely) eyebrows were visible in the shot giving us his most intense stare, showing he’ll have no trouble getting into the mysterious role.

The series will be directed by Mohamed Diab and while the cast is yet to be confirmed, it reportedly also includes May Calamawy in an unknown role and Ethan Hawke as the main big bad.

According to Deadline, The Umbrella Academy writer Jeremy Slater is set to lead the writing team on the project. Given the popularity of the Netflix adaption of The Umbrella Academy, Moon Knight seems to be in safe hands.

It marks the Ex Machina star’s return to the Marvel universe after he played the titular villain in 2016 blockbuster X-Men Apocalypse.

He is also no stranger to Disney having played pilot Poe Dameron for three Star Wars films between 2015 and 2019.
