RHOBH’s Sutton Stracke apologizes to Crystal Minkoff for ‘insensitive race comments’ & admits she was ‘disrespectful’

Sutton, 50, took to Twitter to express an apology to her cast mate and her fans as she called her actions “disrespectful.”

“Despite Crystal and my strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to her express her truth,” the reality star began.

“My life is blessed by the diversity of my relationships and I am committed to become a better listener to understand the painful realities experienced by people of color,” she continued.

“I am sorry. I will do better and be better.”

Sutton’s apology follows the explosive argument between the two ladies on this week’s episode of RHOBH.

The fight itself took place last year when the cast flew to Lake Tahoe for a girls’ retreat.

After their co-star Kyle Richards reflected on a past fight she shared with Garcelle Beauvais over stereotyping, Crystal replied: “As someone who’s not white, when it hits you from stereotypes it can be so painful that you can’t see anything else.”

The 35-year-old, who is the first Asian American cast member on the series, added: “I’ve had friends who have said things to me — Asian comments and stuff like that —”

Sutton then broke into the conversation as she referenced the difficulties of breaking out of “redneck” stereotypes after being raised in Georgia.

“Do you wanna talk about when I see dumbass rednecks on the TV and that’s supposed to be me?” she shouted.

“And that’s supposed to be me? I also have a stereotype but I don’t want to bring it up!”

Crystal clapped back that her co-star’s comments were “insane,” as their conversation continues on next week’s episode.

The Real Housewives newcomer recently welcomed fans into her stunning LA mansion with a sprawling backyard, enormous pool, and playground for her two kids.

The TV personality shares the luxury home with her husband Rob Minkoff, a prominent Director for Disney.

The 9,000 square foot property has it’s own garage building and solar panels, and Crystal specified her reasoning behind the size.

“The number eight is really important in Chinese culture, so I said let’s try and get a house 8,888sqft and we were close.”

The Bravo star also explained her efforts to make a kid friendly backyard, as she admitted putting “lot of thought” into the process.

The outdoor area features a playground including a slide, swing set and climbing tower for the couple’s children Max, eight, and Zoe, six.

“My husband Rob and I actually built this home ourselves. We’ve been here about four years and it was a total labor of love,” she explained.

The living room and formal library hold an opulent feel that Crystal has described as “the heart of the home,” as she added: “I really wanted a place that was cosy, that not only Rob and I but the kids had a space to read and relax.”
