THE Only Way is Essex star Joey Turner made a frantic 2am call to show counsellors after cruel trolls told him he should be “put down.”

The brave 19-year-old  has opened up for the first time about his emotional turmoil at the hands of vile internet bullies.

Joey, who broke down in tears as he quit Towie earlier this month, told The Sun: “I’ve had to deal with trolls since I started Towie, and I don’t think it can get any worse than it has done.

“You just get a thick skin for it in the end.

“I have trolls tell me I should be shot, and that I should be put down.”

“Once I called the Towie phsychologist at 2am in the morning because of it.”

Praising the Towie team for their support, Joey said: “They have been absolutely brilliant. They have said I can call them anytime I have a problem, and they will always answer the phone.”

Fans were devastated when the star announced he was leaving.

He told the Sun: “I’m leaving at the right time, for me.

“I was only 17 when I joined the show, and it has been the dream job.”

He added: “I did a lot of growing up on the show though, and I realised I was getting upset about how I handled certain situations in the wrong way in the past.

“Then I said to myself, ‘I was only 17, and most of my friends on the show were 10 years older than me’ so I shouldn’t be too hard on myself.

Speaking about life beyond Towie, he said: “I’ve applied to study fashion so I can’t wait to do that. I’d love one day to have my own fashion house or be a creative director. I’m inspired by what Tommy Mallet has done with his shoe range.

“Towie have left the door open for me to return, so it probably won’t be the last you see of me. Who knows.”

Meanwhile the star recently underwent a cosmetic procedure to have his chin lengthened with celebrity botox doctor to the stars Dr Vincent Wong of Harley Street.

Joey’s chin was injected with botox to lengthen his face. He’s also had filler to his cheeks and lips to balance his face.

Joey said: “Most of the stars are around 10 years older than me, sometimes I felt like I didn’t fit in.

“Botox and dermal fillers help me look and feel more mature.

I really like how it looks. It was about enhancing the features I already have. I’m really pleased with it.”
