What’s next for Jon Jones?

Bones’ hasn’t competed under the bright lights of the UFC since February 2020 where he defended his light heavyweight strap. Since then, the entire landscape of the sport has changed and Jones still hasn’t returned to fight. Many fans would have assumed that after relinquishing his belt last year, Jones would have been booked to fight at heavyweight by now.

However, Jones’ battles over contract negotiations with the UFC brass from 2020 have continued well into 2020. A fight against Francis Ngannou, which seemed like a lock at one point, is now a conversation of the past. The UFC has moved past Jones temporarily and is looking to book Derrick Lewis against Francis Ngannou.

Things aren’t all bleak for Jones and his camp as he’s recently acquired new management that could turn things announced. New recently broke that Jones had parted ways with First Round Management and had signed famed boxing promoter Richard Schaefer. Given Jones’ shift in gears towards his negotiation efforts, fans of ‘Bones’ look forward to witnessing his return.
