Lakers’ Anthony Davis Joins Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Others in Incredible Playoff Record

The champions Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Phoenix Suns in the game 3 of their playoff series tonight. Given how balanced the series was, tied at 1-1, this was a must win game for both the teams.

The game got off to a great start as both the teams went toe-to-toe, with the Suns leading the game 28-27 after the first quarter. There was no separating both the teams at half time as well as the Lakers took a three point lead with a scoreline of 43-40.

But the third quarter had a different story all-together. After scoring only 5 points in the first half, LeBron James came out all guns blazing as he scored 10 more points in the quarter itself.

With Bron and Co. firing on all cylinders in the third quarter, the Lakers had a solid 13 point lead. There was no stopping the champions in the fourth quarter as well as they clinched the game with a scoreline of 109-95.

Anthony Davis joins Lakers’ legend in incredible playoff record

The Los Angeles Lakers are heavily reliant on their two superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. While Bron has been phenomenal in putting up numbers all across the board, he hasn’t been the leading offensive threat for the champions so far.

With LBJ not taking the utmost control of the scoring department, fellow superstar Anthony Davis has had to step up. After struggling in game 1 where he put up only 13 points, AD came roaring back in game 2 with a 34 points and 10 rebounds performance.

He continued his electrifying form in Staples Center tonight. Despite not shooting a single triple tonight, ‘the Brow’ continued his dominant performance in the paint and was lethal from the free throw line. Shooting 11 of his 22 shots, Davis scored 34 points yet again along with 11 rebounds.

With this performance, ‘the Brow’ became the fifth Laker to have consecutive games with 30+ points and 10+ rebounds. This list contains some of the biggest names in franchise history like Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, and Shaquille O’Neal.

That is some company to be in for AD. Considering how dependent the Lakers look right now on Davis, he might have to put up big time performances regularly. Can Anthony Davis maintain this electrifying form and lead the champions to a repeat?
