List of Umpires at the French Open 2021
As the second Grand Slam event of the year is soon about to begin, players are busy with preparations for the French Open 2021. Yesterday, the draws were revealed and there are some exciting matchups in the initial rounds. To ensure the smooth completion of these matches, there are certain individuals that are involved in the proceedings.
During each match, the involvement of the chair umpires along with their team of officials promises a fair outcome. At the French Open 2021, the same procedure will be followed. Interestingly, the chair umpire has the best seat in the house, sitting close to the court at a height fairly above ground level.

Some of the top names amongst men in match officiating are Ali Nili, Carlos Bernardes, Carlos Ramos, and Mohamed Lahyani. They will be present for the matches in Paris for the next couple of weeks. Amongst the female match officials, Alison Hughes, Eva Asderaki-Moore, Marijana Veljović, and Aurélie Tourte will be actively involved during the tournament.
There are many aspects a chair umpire has to look into, from handling the crowds and players issues to addressing complaints. Meanwhile, a line official has to take care of just one line.

Since the French Open 2021 is eagerly anticipated, all players have reached the French capital. Players such Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer had their first practice sessions on the Philippe Chatrier court. It will be a joyous occasion for the French public, as they will get to see the Swiss star after two years at the venue. He is playing his first match since the Australian Open 2020.
The big three are in the same half of the draw
The main talking point about the French Open 2021 has been the draw. In the men’s section, for the first time, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have been grouped in the same half of the draw. That gives players from the next generation a great chance to reach the final and probably lift their first-ever Grand Slam title.
The main draw begins on May 30. It will certainly be exciting to see how the players fare and how far the top guns can last and how the youngsters perform.
