Valorant Champions Tour: How Sentinels Owned Fnatic, Thanks to TenZ and ShahZaM

Valorant Champion’s Tour Masters Two Reykjavík has already given rise to some beautiful moments in-game. The latest match between the European eSports giant Fnatic and North America’s very own Sentinels has become the talk of the town since, and the community cannot seem to get over the master play of Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan and the iconic Tyson “TenZ” Ngo. TenZ’s skills need no introduction, being the top player in North America for a while. Paired with the in-game leader ShahZaM, the duo was unstoppable, and with all the other members of the roster putting their best efforts, Sentinels was bound to emerge victorious over Fnatic.

Now, this is not an effort to undermine Fnatic. The European eSport giants started out with the match in their hands, with one of the most beautiful opening strikes we have ever seen. The second game saw Fnatic execute yet another beautiful opening strike on Haven. Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev of Fnatic used the dash and smoke ability of Jett in order to pass Skye’s flash through. However, since Derke was inside the smoke, he was unaffected.

However, as fate would have it, they eventually tumbled down to the lower bracket. Frankly, it is going to take a lot for Fnatic to pull themselves back from there. But we are sure it is something the team can handle.

Getting back to Sentinels, the team ended up turning the tide during the first match on Icebox. Although Fnatic pulled five back-to-back round wins, Sentinels ended the match with a 13-11 round score.

TenZ and ShahZaM are the stars of the show called Valorant CT Masters Two Reykjavík

Speaking of the Icebox match, it really was a close call for Sentinels, with Fnatic’s initial performance and comeback. However, with ShahZaM pulling a round win with Jett’s knives, there was some hope for the team. It was at this point that he changed his tactic to the offensive, and charged towards Fnatic. He delivered one of his best performances, securing the highest kills on the server that match: 31.

The second map saw TenZ rise as the star of the show. The most notable moment would perhaps be when the top NA player went on to own four lives from Fnatic with a Marshal. Being a crucial point in the match, it sure turned the tide in their favor, right as Fnatic had strengthened its footing.

Following his brilliant performance, TenZ emerged as the one with the second-highest kills on the server, after ShahZaM, with 25 frags.

However, there are still a lot of matches left in the Valorant Champions Tour. Both teams have a long way to go still. It remains to be seen what the end placement of both the teams will be. But one thing is for sure, the VCT sure got a lot more exciting!
