‘We Give You Everything You Need’- Dana White Hypes Up Reality Show ‘The Ultimate Fighter’

UFC’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ has blessed die-hard fans of MMA with countless memorable moments over the years. TUF has been on a brief hiatus for the past 3 years. Hence, anticipation for the 29th season has been really high. And UFC President Dana White is leaving no stones unturned to promote the UFC’s trailblazing reality TV show.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, White discussed his expectations from this installment of the show. He said, “This is a great season. If you’re a fan of The Ultimate Fighter, this season has everything that you expect, but what makes me happy—and what’s most important—is that the fights are really good, and I believe the fight that’s going to go to the finale is going to be a good one.”

This edition will feature 8 bantamweight fighters and 8 middleweight fighters. The up-an-coming fighters will compete under the tutelage of UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski and #2 featherweight in the world Brian Ortega.

White expressed his satisfaction with the way UFC has been generating content in the recent past. The promotion is bigger than ever, with the top brass signing new talent almost every other week. In the interview, he said that UFC is putting forth content that will satiate the appetite of many MMA fans.

White said, “Now, I feel like we give you everything you need.”

Right now, the UFC is looking at weekly fight cards and ‘Dana White’s Contender Series‘. In DWCS, fighters get to compete for a contract that is up for grabs in each fight. Furthermore, the UFC also does a YouTube show called ‘Lookin’ for a Fight’, where White, coupled with other co-hosts, scout for talent.

In view of this, the UFC President had a message for all those who were averse to the idea of TUF. “Don’t watch it….Not everything and every weekend is going to be what you’re into, but we have a big enough menu that you’re going to find something you like around here.”

Long live The Ultimate Fighter!

The Ultimate Fighter serves as an in-depth look into the lives of fighters. Hence, the audience gets an idea of the fighting style, personality, and training style of the fighter. This initial connection that TUF establishes, takes the fighter a long way in the UFC. Fighters often take their first step in building their legacy as UFC fighters with TUF.

Names like Kamaru Usman, Robert Whittaker, Carla Esparza, Paulo Costa, Tony Ferguson, Rose Namajunas, etc., have all featured prominently in TUF’s history. White hopes that the talent showcased in this season would be equivalent or greater than the ones he has brought forth in the past.

“My point with this whole thing is that I believe we got some good talent on this season,” White said. “I’m not saying we’ve got the next Kamaru Usman, but we got kids that are going to be talented, and who knows? We take them through this process, and if they have what it takes, they end up shining.”
