Drag Race UK’s Ginny Lemon has given a Birmingham landmark a complete makeover in celebration of Pride.

Ginny, 31, gave an eye-catching bright and sunny look to The Bullring’s famous bull, revealing it to the public earlier today.

The six-ton statue’s fabulous new look is complete with Crocs, sunglasses, and a new lip colour. Of course, the entire outfit is yellow to match the iconic drag queen and it’s safe to say we will always fancy a slice.

Birmingham Pride was supposed to take place this weekend but was cancelled due to the pandemic. This is what led staff at The Bullring to approach the performer and vocalist to give the bull a new look for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Ginny, who rose to stardom through appearances on the X Factor and starring in hit show RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, leapt at the opportunity.

Writing on their Twitter account Ginny said: ‘I love that I’ve single handedly made crocs cool again lol.’

They had posed for photos in a yellow feathered outfit, Crocs and glasses, with a headpiece made of lemon slices, which had been replicated for the bull to wear over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Bullring said in a post on Facebook: ‘We should have been celebrating Birmingham Pride this weekend but with the event postponed until later in the year we decided that we could all do with a slice of fun.

‘We couldn’t think of anybody more suited to designing a costume for the Bull than Ginny!’

Unfortunately, this experience was tarred when Ginny claimed they were misgendered by a member of staff at a designer shop in after being directed to the menswear section.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race star, who is non-binary, claimed on Twitter: ‘Such a pleasure to be misgendered at @LouisVuitton Birmingham today such b*****ks!

‘And on my special day! Shame on you! The look up and down and stern “menswear is downstairs” sounded rotten in your mouth.’

They had appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK this year but quit the show in a lip sync round with fellow act Sister Sister, telling the BBC in February: ‘I did it for so many reasons. I think it’s even hard to explain what was going through my head at the time.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Louis Vuitton, who have not responded to a request for comment.
