‘I’m Dropping Jordan, Man’: WNBA Star Candace Parker Outright Declines a Dinner with Michael Jordan

One of the toughest ones to play the sport, Candace Parker is often called the Michael Jordan of WNBA. Well, that’s a beyond-measure compliment to receive, as Candace had paved a staggering career in the league.

Candace Parker was part of the championship Los Angeles Sparks team back in 2016. She earned the WNBA Finals MVP award as well that season. Moreover, she’s a 2-time WNBA MVP, 5-time All-star, and was awarded the DPOY award the previous season. In 2019, Candace also entered the show business and became an analyst for NBA TNT and NBA TV.

Every young fan has probably had the Jordan phase in their lives, and Candace was no different. As a child, Candace and her entire family were huge Chicago Bulls fans for the obvious dominance of MJ in the league.

Candace Parker and Michael Jordan at Portillo’s?

Now that the two have grabbed their share of achievements, people started comparing the two, placing Candace alongside Jordan in terms of success. The interesting bit is that the two share a common city of importance in Chicago as well. However, if asked, will the Chicago Sky forward go and eat out with the great Michael Jordan?

In a recent conversation, former NBA player Channing Frye asked Candace to pick a dinner at ‘Portillo’s with either MJ, Oprah, or Michelle Obama. And guess what? She dropped Michael Jordan immediately. “I’m dropping Jordan, man. No Portillo’s for Jordan. I think honestly, Jordan and Michelle Obama would both give up their seat if I picked either one of them over Oprah.”

So, that was a clear way of saying, ‘Oprah it is!’

Well, Jordan was not even an option for Candace. It was an outright ‘no’ for the Bulls star. Channing and Candace had a big laugh after the dinner idea rejection on MJ. But, how crazy it would be for fans to imagine the star players going for dinner at Portillo’s!

However, who would be your pick amongst the three?
