World No. 4 Dominic Thiem has made the most progress amongst the new lot of players. He is the first player to win a Grand Slam title after being born in the 1990s. In fact, he has found a formula to register wins over the Big 3 on a regular basis.
Recently, Dominic Thiem spoke on various issues, but the one that caught the ear was him speaking about one of the toughest challenges in sport; he spoke about beating Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros and seeing the record the Spaniard possesses at the French capital, it surely is a tough challenge.
The 27-year-old player praised Rafa and stated, “I think that all of them are super tough to play, and all of them have their favorite surface, as well,” Thiem said. “But in my opinion, to play Rafa here on the Chatrier court, it’s still the toughest challenge.”

Dominic Thiem praised the big three for all their achievements. However, he has played Rafa thrice at the French Open, and unsurprisingly, he has lost all those duels. Although it is the biggest challenge in tennis, he even went as far as to consider it a huge task in the world of sports.
The two-time French Open finalist further added, “But I guess also outside of tennis, it’s probably one of the most difficult things ever in sports, in general, to beat him here on this court, as his 102 matches are incredible, and as I said, one of the biggest achievements ever in the sport.
“So face him here is probably the most difficult still.”
As of today, all the top players are preparing for the French Open 2021, beginning in a couple of days’ time. The draws were revealed and for the first time, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are all grouped in the same half of the draw.
On the other hand, players like Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are in the other half of the draw. It will be interesting to see how things unfold over the next couple of weeks.
