Robert Whittaker Lauds Darren Till for Bringing Out the Best in Him

Robert Whittaker is currently on a 3-fight winning streak since his UFC 243 loss to the current champion, Israel Adesanya. ‘The Reaper’ started off his winning streak with a decision victory over Darren Till in July 2020. It was a phenomenal fight. Whittaker managed to edge out a unanimous decision in a back-and-forth contest.

Now, ‘Bobby Knuckles’ took to Twitter to congratulate ‘The Gorilla’ for being such a game opponent. Till certainly brought the best out of the former champion. The Aussie didn’t fail to point that out and thanked Till for that. “It’s moments like these that truely bring the best out of me. Cheers mate for this one @darrentill2 @ufc,” wrote Whittaker.

Whittaker has since defeated the cream of the crop contenders like Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum. As for Till, he is yet to enter the Octagon since his first loss in the middleweight division.

A decision win over Kelvin Gastelum started his venture in the middleweight division in a positive way. However, a defeat to ‘The Reaper’ followed. But it’s injuries that have halted his progress since. Till had to pull out of two contests in recent times. A fight against Jack Hermansson in 2020 and another against Marvin Vettori recently had to be canceled as the Liverpool native injured himself.

As for Whittaker, he is expected to take on the eventual winner of the title fight at UFC 263. The former champion has established himself as an eligible contender yet again. And one can’t argue his position as the next challenger.
