“The Company Is Going to Change”- AEW President Tony Khan Confident Ahead of Double or Nothing

AEW has made its intentions clear and ahead of the recent reports of a WWE-NJPW partnership, Tony khan is confident of a huge revolution in his own promotion. The AEW President has plans in mind and is ready to take WWE on sooner than later.

In his appearance on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast, Tony Khan revealed plans for a major expansion, banking on the return of fans to live shows. He holds Double or Nothing as the fateful day which will mark AEW’s role in this new era of professional wrestling.

“There’s going to be a huge expansion of AEW, and I think that’s where Double or Nothing comes in. This is our huge, signature pay-per-view,” Khan said. “We really take our quarterly events seriously, and I want Double or Nothing to be one of the great pay-per-views we’ve done.”

“And I think the return of crowds is going to help boost this great card, but I also think we have to start expanding the roster in AEW, and there’s going to be great moments, great surprises on the show.”

AEW is no stranger to huge surprises, from Jon Moxley’s thunderous debut to Sting’s shocking appearance. Khan also managed to kick open the Forbidden Door and bring in Kenta for a feud with IWGP United States Championship Jon Moxley, a title which was defended on AEW itself!

Tony Khan is banking on the success of Double or Nothing

The AEW President is confident of Double or Nothing being a success and banks on the live presence to elevate the show.

“I believe that we’re also just, bell to bell, going to deliver an awesome wrestling pay-per-view for the fans at home and for all 5,000 plus at Daily’s Place. I’m really, really jacked up excited about this pay-per-view and excited about what we’re going to do with AEW this year because the company is going to change,” Khan stated. “I’m very happy with what we’ve done in these first two years, and now is the time to build off it and grow.” (h/t Wrestling Inc.)

Tony Khan went on the front foot at took a jab at WWE President Nick Khan a couple of hours before AEW Dynamite, an episode that aired right after SmackDown ended. The race to the NJPW partnership is strong, and Khan is confident he is well ahead. This deal could well use it to wage an all-out war on WWE.
