The Masked Dancer en hotly anticipated ahead of its debut, given the success of its sister show, The Masked Singer.

The judges return to try and guess who is under the mask but this time the various wild characters which hide celebrities will be cutting shapes than singing or killing classic bops, whatever your take on it all.

But will the show be able to host a live audience? Here’s what you need to know.

Will The Masked Dancer have a live audience?

The audience will be virtual due to the restrictions of the ongoing pandemic restrictions and due to the fact that the show is filmed in advance so close to commission to avoid spoilers.

At the moment, some shows such as Have I Got News For You have tested the water with a return of a live audience but this has just been in the last week.

However, the atmosphere of The Masked Dancer will be possibly wilder than The Masked Singer – so the lack of audience is unlikely to take away from the atmosphere.

What is the concept?

Remember the Masked Singer? Well it’s basically that but replacing the singing with dancing.a recent trailer, Joel Dommett quipped: ‘There’s no show quite like it – except The Masked Singer, that’s quite similar.

The show was commissioned due to the huge success of The Masked Singer which accumulated over 10 million viewers for the most recent final.

Who are the judges?

Joel Dommett will till be hosting the show.

When can I watch it?

If you want to see a beetroot throwing some shapes, the series begins on Saturday May 29 at 7pm on ITV. It will continue throughout the week, except on Wednesday.

This will replace the usual Britain’s Got Talent semi-final week with 9pm Coronation Street specials sandwiched between results show.
