“I Would Have KOed You” – Ryan Garcia Sends a Stern Message to Devin Haney

WBC Interim lightweight champion Ryan Garcia has alarmed the world titlist, Devin Haney, after the latter’s unanimous win over Jorge Linares for the WBC 135 lbs gold. ‘KingRy’ has claimed that he will stop ‘The Dream’ when they collide inside the ring, putting a lifeline to their possible showdown.

While Garcia is the mandatory challenger to Devin Haney’s belt, the undefeated youngsters can collide in the future. That said, they might have intensified the relationship already. Following Haney’s recent victory, Garcia took to social media and posed his chances in a fight against the world champion.

“Good fight but I am sorry Devin, I would have KOed you, slept you,” said the Interim champion.

Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia could have fought Devin Haney right after his win over Luke Campbell in January. However, the 23-year-old ducked the chance and called out WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis. Besides, he began preaching a fight against octuple champion Manny Pacquiao.

Devin Haney’s promoter Eddie Hearn constantly blamed Ryan Garcia for avoiding a shot at ‘The Dream,’ but Garcia appeared busy making moves at other possible fights. Amid all of this, the Interim champion went ahead with another title eliminator against Javier Fortuna.

However, he pulled off from the fight, citing mental health as a reason. While Devin Haney’s recent win has brought Ryan Garcia back to the conversation, he might accept the world title shot this time.

Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney – The fight to make

Garcia is currently out of an opponent as Javier Fortuna has settled a fight with Joseph Diaz. While ‘KingRy’ will seemingly cite an early return, it also puts Devin Haney out of his radar. Hence, he might choose another title elimination before finally turning towards Haney, the WBC champion.

Meanwhile, Devin Haney can wait and see how the other title fights in the division play out. Likewise, Teofimo Lopez will defend the unified belts against George Kambosos Jr. on June 19. So, several big names are cruelty hounding the lightweight division.

Although Garcia vs Haney makes the most sense in the WBC tale, the champions can possibly look for other options, intensifying the lightweight title journey.
