Lawrence Stroll Refutes Suggestion Poor F1 Performances Affected Aston Martin’s Brand Value

When it was announced that Aston Martin was returning as the rebranding of Racing Points, fans had high expectations. However, things haven’t gone the Silverstone-based team’s way so far this season. But team owner, Lawrence Stroll feels that their performance on track won’t affect the reputation of the British brand.

The team currently sits in 5th place in the constructor’s standings with just 19 points. They scored the most points at the recent Monaco GP, as Sebastian Vettel scored 10 points by coming 5th and Stroll scored four points by crossing the line in 8th place.

Results on track won’t have a negative impact on Aston Martin says Stroll

Speaking to Autosport, Stroll said, “I don’t think it took away from the rebranding and that excitement. That’s been phenomenal. We see it through fan engagement.”

“But it’s disappointing when you put in all the hard work and cars are frozen from a homologation point of view, and then you get to the first race and realise they weren’t really frozen from a homologation point of view,” The Canadian concluded.

Lance Stroll shares his experience about kerb jumping at Monte Carlo

The Canadian started his race from 13th on the grid and gained some positions as he finished the race in 8th place. While zipping around the streets of Monaco, Stroll jumped kerbs around turn 16 and came out clean, unlike Charles Leclerc who crashed at the same turn during qualifying.

As quoted from Motorsport.com, Stroll said, “It rattled my brain a little bit! I was a bit surprised. I thought my day was kind of done actually, after the second one.”

“The first one I kind of managed to save it, but second one, I had a big thump on the inside. And normally when you got a big thump on the inside, we all know how it ends, so I was pretty happy. I used up my jokers there,” he concluded.

With the next race in Baku, the Canadian driver would be hoping for a better result as he prepares himself for the sixth round of this year’s championship. Stroll would aim to score some crucial points for himself and his team in this year’s championship.
