WATCH: Massive Wreck Takes Place During NASCAR Truck Series Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway

During the NASCAR Truck Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, there was a massive wreck. As it turned out, the #14 truck of Trey Hutchens came to a halt on the track. Unfortunately for him, Drew Dollar and Johnny Sauter could not avoid the stricken car.

In their desperation, they swerved but collided with each other. The back of Sauter’s car clattered Hutchens’ car and poor old Dollar got taken along for the ride.

Luckily for the #51 truck, he was able to continue for a little while longer. However, the other two drivers saw their races end prematurely.

Luckily, the three drivers were able to walk away unscathed. This is a real testament to how NASCAR is taking safety seriously.

This comes after the NASCAR races at COTA last week where there were multiple crashes. In the end, John Hunter Nemechek won the race against Carson Hocevar and Ben Rhodes.

What happened during the NASCAR Truck Series race?

According to Sauter, “I had just pitted, and I think there were four trucks in front of me, excluding (Hutchens) and two of them were coming to pit road, so I just worked my way to the top there. As we were coming off (Turn 4), there was a truck sitting there, I guess.”

Hutchens explained that he picked up a puncture sometime during the truck race. So he tried to slow down to get to pit road, but his window of opportunity slammed shut. As a result, he ended up slowing down the frontstretch, and a startled Sauter and Dollar just plowed into the back of him.

Admittedly, some debris from the wreck even hit Nemechek’s truck. Luckily, there was no lasting damage, and he continued on to win the race. Without a doubt, this win would have helped Nemechek’s championship hopes.
