Why did the Filipino lose the fight?

Manny clearly had his success in the fight and hurt the former multi-weight champion. And while he went into the bout as the smaller man and underdog, his only way to beat Mayweather was to throw more punches. So why did he lose?

Despite hurting Mayweather on four separate occasions, Floyd Mayweather showed his class. He dominated all the other rounds, kept Pacquiao at bay with his snappy jab, and threw more punches and landed more than the Filipino.
