Former Ferrari F1 Team Boss Arrivabene Linked to Juventus CEO Role

From 2014 to 2018, Maurizio Arrivabene was the team principal of Scuderia Ferrari. Since his departure, he has gone on to take on a role in the Juventus football team. Now, Arrivabene is set to move up the corporate ladder and take up a higher ole as the football team’s CEO.

Prior to this, he was a member of the board of directors at Juventus FC. Speaking of which, the Serie A giants are currently in the middle of a massive revamp on an executive level. Sporting director Fabio Paratici left the club after 11 years of service. Meanwhile, coach and Juve legend Andrea Pirlo followed suit, with Max Allegri returning.

The Juventus CEO position has been vacant since Giuseppe Marotta departed in 2018. It is also worth mentioning that the ex-Ferrari team principal is the club’s first option for the role.

Back in 2014, there were big changes happening at Scuderia Ferrari. First and foremost, Marco Mattiacci had been given the sack and Arrivabene was called up to manage the team at the end of the season. Arrivabene’s arrival coincided with Fernando Alonso’s departure and Sebastian Vettel’s arrival.

During his tenure with the Italian marquee, Arrivabene had a great relationship with his drivers. He, Sebastian Vettel, and Kimi Raikkonen got along with each other very well. Sadly, despite their dynamic, Ferrari was no match for the mighty Mercedes. As a result, the higher-ups soon lost faith in him.

So, at the end of the 2019 season, Arrivabene got the sack and Mattia Binotto succeeded him. Since then, the former F1 team principal has been in the Juventus stable and is looking to climb even higher. The Series A giants endured one of their worst seasons till date, where they slipped to 4th in the standings. Hopefully for Arrivabene, he and Allegri will be able to help steer the football club back to the top.
