Sting Tears the House Down With Impressive In-Ring Return at AEW Double or Nothing

‘The Icon’ Sting made a truly iconic return to in-ring action at AEW Double or Nothing 2021. After a career-threatening injury in 2015, no one believed Sting would be so flawless in the ring. Every move and every nuance proves that Sting hasn’t missed a step!

Before the match could even start, Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page attacked Sting and Darby Allin on the entrance ramp. While Allin brawled with Page outside the ring, Scorpio Sky took it to the ‘Icon’ near the entrance tunnel.

Everyone was worried as Sky prepared for a suplex, and even delivered it on the ramp! However, Sting got up and no-sold the move in an instant, and shoved Sky onto Ethan Page as he was embracing taking out the WCW Legend. Not just that, but Sting even hit a diving crossbody on Page and Sky!

Finally, things got under control and the match started officially. Darby Allin and Scorpio Sky started the match, but the veteran evened the odds inside the ring after taking out Ethan Page with a one-arm bulldog. Fans had to wait for sometime to see him back in action during the match. And when he finally did, he stole the show.

Darby Allin tagged in Sting, but referee Aubrey Edwards did not see it. This allowed Ethan Page to take control of Allin and tossed him right into the crowd at ringside! Allin somehow got back in the ring, and fought his way to tag in the ‘Icon.’

Once Sting came in the ring, it wasn’t going to be fun for Page and Sky. He hit both men with Stinger Splashes, and then connected a Code Red on ‘All Ego.’ Before Sting and Allin could gain more momentum, Page and Sky got the control of the match once again.

Page took down Stinger with a big boot, and then dropped Darby Allin right onto him. Ethan Page then went for a powerbomb on Sting and he quickly turned it into his trademark Scorpion Death Lock. However, he wasn’t the legal man.

Eventually, the former WCW World Champion got the tag and he went right after Scorpio Sky. The two traded blows, but it was Sting who had the upper hand. He connected a Scorpion Death drop to get the win.

All in all, it was extremely fun match and Sting looked a million bucks in it. It never looked like he has lost a step. In fact, the crowd acknowledged his immaculate wrestling with deafening ‘You Still Got It’ chants. And we cannot disagree!
