Coachella is officially making its return in April 2022 after being forced to take a two-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the world slowly starts to return to regular programming, the popular festival has been given the go-ahead for next year and fans can now put the dates in their diary.

‘Our desert homecoming is officially set for April 2022: weekend one will take place on April 15-17, 2022 and weekend two on April 22-24, 2022,’ the announcement read. ‘Our advance sale begins this Friday, June 4th at 10am PT. More time to plan and more time to pay for your passes over time with our flexible payment plan options. Information about flexible payment plans and more at coachella.com.’

Sister festival Stagecoach will also return as the statement continued: ‘Stagecoach is back in the saddle! Save the date for April 29-May 1st, 2022 for our next get together.

‘Be the first to find out about the advance sale right around the corner at stagecoachfestival.com.’

Headliners and performers will likely be revealed early next year but we have a feeling people will be keen to book tickets no matter who is set to perform.

The California festival, which is famed for its Instagrammable aesthetic as much as the artist line-up, had been postponed from April 2020 until October due to the coronavirus pandemic, but then it was confirmed that the rescheduled date couldn’t go ahead either.

The festival was scrapped again in January this year after Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr Cameron Kaiser signed an order, calling for all April events to be canceled.

While details of the previous line-up were set to be announced closer to the festival, the cancelled 2020 event had headliners including Frank Ocean, Rage Against the Machine, and Travis Scott.

Other artists slated to play Coachella include Lana Del Rey, Thom Yorke, BIGBANG, Megan Thee Stallion, and 21 Savage, as well as UK acts including Calvin Harris, Lewis Capaldi, FKA twigs and Charli XCX.
