Huge Championship Match Announced For Hell in a Cell: Bobby Lashley Takes on Drew McIntyre

When a Superstar loses a champion title, he/she does everything in their power to get it back. Such is the case with Drew McIntyre and the WWE Championship.

To get an opportunity for the WWE Championship, McIntyre battled with Kofi Kingston on Monday Night raw: May 31st. 2021. Kofi took a dive from the ropes to put down McIntyre, but The Scottish Warrior retaliated with a mid-air claymore which ultimately put down Kingston. This victory helped Drew McIntyre become the number one contender for the WWE Championship title. Now, he will face current champion Bobby Lashley at Hell in a Cell 2021.

Since the time McIntyre lost the title at Elimination Chamber, he has been trying to get it back. He faced The Almighty at WrestleMania 37 and WrestleMania Backlash, but was unsuccessful both times. Considering both of them are Superstars worthy of the title, it is going to be hard to predict whether McIntyre can revive his former glory or The Almighty will continue his reign.

WWE had to re-book Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston

The previous week when McIntyre faced Kingston, The MVP and Bobby Lashley interfered. WWE Official Adam Pearce ruled it as a double count-out and re-booked the match. He warned Lashley to not interfere a second time, and if he did, WWE would suspend him for 90 days.

Kingston and McIntyre probably wouldn’t have fought for the number one contender spot had they been on the same page. It so happened that Lashley issued an open challenge, but MVP revealed Strowman and McIntyre weren’t eligible for the challenge since Lashley had already defeated them.

Hence, when Kingston fought Lashley in a non-title match, McIntyre helped Kingston secure the victory. However, Kofi Kingston did not want to share credit, which led to a disagreement between them, and they squared off in the ring to decide who was better suited for the opportunity.

Now, coming back to McIntyre vs. Lashley, undoubtedly, the match will be brutal. If McIntyre wins at Hell in a Cell, he becomes champion. Now, if that happens, there is a higher chance Lashley will come after Drew McIntyre. However, if Lashley keeps the title, Hell in a Cell could mark the end of the on-going feud between The Scottish Psychopath and The Almighty.
