TASTEFUL!: Serena Williams’ French Open 2021 Outfit and Green Day Inspired Sneakers

Three-time champion Serena Williams inaugurated the first-ever night session match in the history of the French Open with a win. She overcame Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu in straight sets 7-6(6), 6-2.

Unquestionably, the 23-time Grand Slam champion was in the mood for aggressive tennis. Hence, even when Begu tried her best to stay in the match, she always fell short against Serena’s all-out attack.

However, the American’s gameplay was not the only talking subject after the match. Her peridot-coloured outfit, completed with a black Nike sash, and her signature Nike Flare 2 HC shoe got equal attention.

Serena disclosed many intricate details about her outfit post the match. Given her fashion background, she did not find it tough to ace her French Open 2021 outfit.

Firstly, the American professional wore a NikeCourt dress, which is naturally customised to make it inch-perfect. It also looked mesmerising in motion and not at all limiting despite being skin-tight.

The black Nike sash tied on her waist helps keep Serena in match rhythm and provides an extra balance. Also, it pushed her evenly to deliver a spectacular forehand or backhand.

Most significantly, the eye-candy feature of Serena’s outfit is her shoes. The shoes imprinted with many symbols and quotations had everyone’s attention.

According to Serena, the design of the sneakers is after Green Day’s album ‘Dookie.’ It even had a lot of Paris graffiti drawings on them.

Moreover, the kicks also included her three-year-old daughter Olympia’s name on them. She even got the ‘RG’ initials on them for Roland-Garros.

Additionally, she had two inspirational quotes on them, ‘je ne m’arrêterai pas’ and ‘je ne m’arrêterai jamais.’ It translated as ‘I will not stop’ and ‘I will never stop fighting.’

Naturally, the outfit has reinvigorated the ambience of the tournament. Serena’s fans will hope to see her shine in that dress until the last match at Roland-Garros 2021.
