This Is Us secretly gave a shoutout to Erin and Ben Napier’s newborn baby Mae
This Is Us fans were the first to learn the name of Erin and Ben Napier’s newborn daughter Mae thanks to a sneaky shoutout in a recent episode.
The HGTV Home Town stars announced the birth of their second child on Memorial Day, after welcoming their bundle of joy last week.
Hours later, Erin revealed the fun Easter egg about her daughter with a screenshot from This Is Us.
In the scene, Toby (Chris Sullivan) and Kate (Chrissy Metz) were at the hospital waiting for their baby and Today was writing down ideas for the baby’s middle name.
In her Instagram post, Erin explained: ‘An Easter egg from our friend @sullivangrams: earlier this year on @nbcthisisus, Kate and Toby were at the hospital awaiting their baby.
‘Our friend Chris, who plays Toby, was writing down ideas for the baby’s middle name and he snuck Mae (and her middle name!) in there to see if we would spot it when we watched the episode.’
It’s still unclear what Mae’s middle name is, however, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Elizabeth appears on the list twice so that could mean something.
This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and executive producer Ken Olin also made an appearance on the list so we can count those out.
The couple previously revealed that Mae was named after Erin’s beloved Aunt Mae.
The TV star, 35, and her husband welcomed baby number two on May 28, with Ben revealing the news by posting a sweet photo of their three-year-old daughter Helen snuggling with her little sister.
‘This is a very memorable Memorial Day weekend for me and my girls. #bigsgirls #memorialmae,’ he wrote.
Erin shared a post with three Polaroid photos, which included a shot of Mae, a snap of Erin in the hospital, and a photo of Ben, 37, holding the baby.
