WATCH: The Young Bucks Taunt WWE’s Faction the Shield During Their Match Against Jon Moxley at Double or Nothing

Just like WCW back in the day, AEW has made it a habbit to target WWE wherever possible. The most recent incident was when AEW’s Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, took a jab at WWE’s iconic trio, The Shield.

Young Bucks do the Shield fist bump

This Sunday on May 30, 2021, AEW hosted their Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. By all accounts, the event was a major success, and the fans loved it till the end.

One of the more notable talking points was during the AEW Tag Team Championship match between The Young Bucks and Jon Moxley along with Eddie Kingston.

At one point of the match, when Moxley was down, the Young Bucks did a fist bump similar to the one done by The Shield.

Following the fist bump, Matt Jackson roared and ordered Nick Jackson to pick up Jon for the double power bomb. Matt even did the Roman Reigns’ “ooooh-aaahhhh” taunt that left the crowd wanting more.

It was insult to injury as Jon Moxley was a part of the iconic trio alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

The Young Bucks also took to Twitter to celebrate their victory.

The Young Bucks eventually retained their Tag Team Championship after a gruesome match.

Will Jon Moxley finally move on from the Young Bucks? We certainly don’t think so.

The Shield’s Dominance in WWE

The once-dominant ‘Hounds of Justice’ faction is well known by everyone in the wrestling world. From their splendid entrance to their signature finisher, The Shield exuded originality and charisma.

Like a wolf packs, the trio would come into the arena through the crowd as if to signify they were one of them.

They laid waste to any wrestler who was unfortunate enough to face the ‘Hounds of Justice’. These unfortunate souls included the likes of John Cena to Braun Strowman and every other wrestler in the locker room.

The number’s game always played a significant role in their matches. Their chemistry was so perfect that the fans loved the faction even though they were heels.

This just goes to show how big a faction can become if they have the right people in it. Is AEW trying to replicate it in one way or the other?
