Daria Kasatkina Upsets No. 10 Seed and Junior Champion Belinda Bencic in 2R of French Open 2021

Former World No. 4 Belinda Bencic was up against Russian player Daria Kasatkina in the second round of the French Open 2021. They have played against each other thrice previously. In their fourth meeting today, it was the Russian player who dominated the Swiss and won the match 6-2 6-2 in 76 minutes. 

Set 1: Daria Kasatkina sweeps past Belinda Bencic

The Russian player began the set on a positive note. Throughout the entire set, she served with accuracy and took advantage of her opponent’s weak serve. 

In the third game of the set, Daria upped the ante and broke her Bencic on her serve. She consolidated the break by holding her serve. Later, she handed her opponent the second break of the set, putting her in the driver’s seat, and helped her clinch the set.
