REPORTS: Reason Behind Braun Strowman and Other WWE Talents’ Release Revealed

As of today, World Wrestling Entertainment has officially released several wrestlers from their company. One of the released superstars is the ‘Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman.

His untimely release from the company has sent shock waves throughout the pro wrestling universe. No one could have seen this coming, maybe not even Braun himself. Now the Monster has been released from his cage and into the world. Where will he go next?

Braun Strowman released due to paycheck issues

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Braun Strowman’s high paycheck was the likely motivation for his release. He tweeted,

“I’ve learned Braun Strowman’s huge contract was likely the catalyst for his release.”

Braun was an absolute favorite of the fans. Everything about him charmed the fans; from his in-ring ability to his promo ability, he was one of the reasons why people tuned into WWE.

Now with his release, WWE has surely decreased the amount of money going out, but in doing so, they have also inevitably decreased their ratings.

Braun is a megastar and will definitely attract the eyes of fans no matter which wrestling company he ends up in. This means fewer tune-ins for WWE.

However, in WWE’s defense, it is indeed tough to keep paying such huge amounts of salary to a wrestler in this pandemic era.

Possible reasons for other star releases

Here is the full list of wrestlers who have been released. These include Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana, Santana Garrett, Buddy Murphy.

In other reports, it is also revealed that some of the superstars who were released actually wanted it to happen. So for them, it is actually good. The fans are still speculative of the idea and cannot believe that WWE is releasing wrestlers left, right, and center.

What does the future hold?

For now, with the limited information revealed, we can only speculate what is in store for these wrestlers. AEW is a good option as previously released WWE superstars have joined AEW and have found nothing but success. AEW TNT Champion, Miro is a prime example of the same. Maybe his wife, Lana, can come and join him. The possibilities are endless and so are the questions.
