Team Hendrick Motorsports Has the Perfect Recipe for Wins with Internal Rivalry
Over the past few races, Hendrick Motorsports has been on a roll. In fact, the last three Cup races witnessed a Hendrick driver reaching Victory Lane. To make matters even better, Kyle Larson helped the team celebrate a record-breaking 269th Cup Series victory.
With this, they broke Richard Petty Enterprises’ tally of 268 wins. Hendrick Motorsports were so dominant that they filled four of the Top 5 places. Only Kyle Busch prevented a Top 4 lockout when he snatched third place. Alex Bowman set the ball rolling with his win at the Dover International Speedway.
Elliott followed it up with his first victory of the 2021 season. To make matters better, he had the honor of being the first Circuit of The Americas winner. Finally, Larson stormed to victory in the 600-mile Memorial Day weekend race.
Many are now worried about Hendrick Motorsports
Elliott said, “This is a sport that comes in waves. It’s a roller coaster. There’s going to be good times, there’s going to be bad times. I hope we’re always this good and always this competitive, but I think the law of averages would tell you that that’s not going to last forever, so I think we all want to try to take advantage of the opportunities that we have right now as a company and continue to challenge ourselves to be better because our competitors are getting better, they’re pushing harder.”
After the Charlotte race, Kyle Busch confessed on the team radio that Hendrick Motorsports is a real threat this year. Given that the outfit is in red hot form, everyone has a right to be worried. Already, the season has been extremely unpredictable, with as many as 12 different winners. However, there seems to be a sense of consistency slowly settling in. Suffice to say, the Hendrick Motorsports quartet have begun this process.
