The Masked Dancer viewers were left gutted after it was revealed that Wednesday’s episode is being cancelled because of the football.

Fans were told during the latest broadcast that there will be no programme due to England’s international friendly against Austria. Instead, the next instalment will air on Thursday night.

The Masked Singer spin-off has aired every night since it began on Saturday, with four celebrities revealed so far.

However, the England game means that fans will have to wait a little longer to see the likes of Car Wash, Frog and Scarecrow perform again.

Viewers took to social media to share their frustrations.

‘@MaskedSingerUK isn’t on tomorrow night and I’m not ok by that,’ one said.

‘No show tomorrow because of England’s useless friendly,’ another disgruntled fan added.

‘I wish they would have put #MaskedDancerUK on Wednesday tomorrow and not have that sports match till Saturday or something,’ another said.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s show saw Rubber Chicken unmasked as Olympic skier Eddie the Eagle, who became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the show.

Eddie – real name Michael Edwards – is an English ski-jumper and Olympian who represented Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping in 1988, becoming the first competitor since 1928 to do so.

Even though the Olympian impressed judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and newbie Oti Mabuse, it wasn’t enough, as he was eliminated from the competition.

The dancers still left are Zip, Llama, Scarecrow, Carwash, Frog, Beagle, Squirrel and Knickerbocker Glory.

The Masked Dancer on ITV & the ITV Hub continues at 7.30pm on Thursday June 3.
