Ed Sheeran has hinted that he might be releasing new music with a very surprising collaborator – none other than Friends star Courteney Cox.

The singer, 30, shared a clip of him playing the guitar and singing while Courteney accompanied him on the piano, simply captioning it: ‘25th June’.

While neither of the confirmed exactly what was happening on June 25, Courteney and Ed sounded amazing jamming together.

Ed and Courteney – who is best known for playing Monica Geller in the hit sitcom, which recently broadcast a long-awaited reunion special – have long been firm friends.

The pair recently shared a hilarious video of Ed stepping into David Schwimmer’s shoes to perform the iconic ‘routine’ that Monica and Ross Geller do on the show.

Nailing the entire routine, Ed joked; ‘Had a reunion of our own this weekend @courteneycoxofficial #theroutine#iknow #friends4eva #obviouslybetterthanross’.

Ed’s mostly been on a hiatus since December 2019 as he embraced spending more time with wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughter Lyra.

His last release was the No.6 Collaborations Project in 2019, but he recently gave an update on when we can expect new music from him.

Ed told BBC Radio 1’s Jordan North ahead of his appearance at Big Weekend over the Bank Holiday: ‘My first single was meant to be ready for now and I was meant to be playing it at [Radio] 1’s Big Weekend, so it does feel a bit weird starting with Castle on the Hill instead of the new tune.

When asked to describe what his new music was like, Ed called it ‘an amalgamation of all the records [I’ve done]. The first single is really different – like really, really different.’

Is it that different because it has a member of the Friends cast on it too? We’ll have to wait until June 25 to find out.
