How Roma could line up with entire XI of Premier League stars under Jose Mourinho as he ‘plots Eden Hazard transfer’

JOSE MOURINHO looks set for a busy summer with the new Roma boss linked with dozens of big-name stars.

The Special One, 58, was sacked by Tottenham in April but quickly returned to work with the Serie A giants.

Mourinho will officially take charge at the Stadio Olimpico next month.

But that hasn’t stopped the Portuguese chief from getting a head start on his transfer moves.

The ex-Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid chief has been linked with a host of Europe’s top talent.

And incredibly, Mourinho could take charge of a team made up entirely of former Premier League stars.

Edin Dzeko, Chris Smalling, Davide Santon, Pedro and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are already on the books of Roma.

They played for Manchester City, United, Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal respectively earlier in their careers.

But of the possible new arrivals, most-notably the new Roma chief is believed to be monitoring Eden Hazard’s situation.

The Belgian winger has struggled for form and with injuries since joining Real Madrid in a move rising to £150million in the summer of 2019.

Hazard worked under Mourinho at Chelsea and it’s claimed the Special One wants a reunion in the Italian capital.

Mourinho is keen to bolster the spine of his team, with Eric Dier and Ben White both possible targets at centre-back.

Dier is falling out of favour at Tottenham and could use a fresh start, but Brighton star White is being chased by a host of clubs with Roma not thought to be strong frontrunners.

In goal, Wolves stopper Rui Patricio is in the mix, along with Juventus veteran Gianluigi Buffon and United outcast Sergio Romero.

Mourinho is clearly keen to boost his midfield options, though.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – with whom the boss worked at Spurs – is believed to be a top target, along with Arsenal star Granit Xhaka.

Man Utd outcast Donny van de Beek is also set to be offered a route out of Old Trafford, with Mourinho believed to be keen.

Other big name targets linked with a move to Roma include Lille star Renato Sanches, Wolves striker Raul Jimenez and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Old favourites Erik Lamela and Nemanja Matic have also been mentioned as potential targets for Mourinho, along with Leicester’s Demarai Gray.

Incredibly, Cristiano Ronaldo has also emerged as a possible option, according to Italy legend Christian Vieri.
