‘Never Losing in an NBA Final’: Former Asserts Michael Jordan as the Irreplaceable Goat Over LeBron James

For how many more years will Michael Jordan be unbeatable in the NBA? His rule doesn’t seem to be ending, as players and fans continue to go back to his prowess in the league. Many came and went, but only Kobe Bryant and LeBron James could even touch closer to what MJ had mounted in his career. But, can we ever say they went a step ahead of the 6-time championship holder?

It’s probably a ‘no’.

Chicago Bulls’ former star player, Michael Jordan, has established not only numbers but a winning mentality that very few attain in the league. For him, nothing else mattered than taking that win home and then bouncing back for the next one. There was nobody better than the North Carolina boy in his dominant era. Well, MJ’s personal trainer Tim Grover, who has catered to numerous NBA greats, agrees to it more than anyone.

Michael Jordan – The ultimate playoff GOAT

Talking about the additions in the GOAT debate such as LeBron James, Tim said, “Being alongside this individual and being able to see things that nobody got a chance to see. The way he handled the media, the way he handled the adversity, leaving the game and coming back and winning three more in a row, never losing in an NBA final, never needing a Game 7. And, no matter how great his stats were during the regular season, they were even better during the playoffs.”

Michael holds numerous Playoff records to date and each coming day a newbie tries to give it all and beat him. If this isn’t legacy then what is?

An unbeatable streak for six years

Without a doubt, he gained competitive opponents over his prime years. But Michael remained undefeatable in any Finals matchup that he touched. “And, during that era, no other star won a championship,” Tim further told Jalen Rose. “They could not beat Michael Jordan and the Bulls, except the two years that he was away…

“But while MJ was on the court Patrick (Ewing) didn’t win, Charles (Barkley) didn’t win, (John) Stockton didn’t win, Clyde (Drexler) didn’t win, Karl Malone didn’t win, and we can just keep going on and on. It was like, ‘No, this is my era, you are not going to win during this time.’”

The era lasted until Michael retired for the second time after the 1998 title win. But he again landed up playing for Washington Wizards for two more years until his final goodbye to the sport.

Will there be another Michael Jordan? Or a better GOAT in the coming decades?
