Dita Von Teese was unmasked as the glamorous beetroot on The Masked Dancer this week, but she reckons she would have won if it was the Masked Stripper instead.

The burlesque performer, 48, was the third star eliminated from the first series of The Masked Dancer UK on Monday after having viewers stumped.

Dita appeared on Lorraine where she told Cat Deeley: ‘Obviously I feel so much more comfortable [doing burlesque] – if this were the Masked Stripper I would have won it!

‘I’m all for that show. It was hard for me – one of the reasons that I became a burlesque dancer was because I was always a ballet dancer but not a very good one so that is how I came to burlesque.’

While she admitted she didn’t know everyone on the show, Dita thought she was probably one of the few that wasn’t highly trained in dance or gymnastics, adding: ‘I knew I was not going to win.’

Dita also revealed that she had secretly received a note from another contestant – something which is banned on the show as the Masked Dancers can not communicate with each other or reveal their identity.

The note in question was from the Llama, who was last night revealed to be Zoe Ball, who cheekily managed to hand over a secret message.

Dita confessed: ‘It said something about how excited he or she – nobody knew what the Llama was at the time – how excited they were to be there, and nervous.

‘So it wasn’t really like a love note, I was just sort of intrigued because it was my first glimpse at who the Llama was, so it was just a funny little note.’

Dita added that the production crew worked hard to stop anyone finding out who another act was: ‘We were all trying to figure out who we were and they kept having to keep us from talking to each other or even gesturing with each other, no sign language, nothing.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
