And if you wanted to switch phones with the WhatsApp app, you’d have to totally abandon it on your other device.
Fans have been begging WhatsApp for multi-device support for years.
And now speaking to legendary WhatsApp leaking blog WABetaInfo, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp boss Will Cathcart have confirmed that a big change is coming.
Asked if multi-device support would be added, Mark Zuckerberg said: “This is coming too!”
He continued: “It’s been a big technical challenge to get all your messages and content to sync properly across devices.

“Even when your phone battery dies.
“But we’ve solved this and we’re looking forward to getting it out soon!”
It’s unclear exactly when the update will go live.
However, based on Zuckerberg’s comments, it could be a matter of weeks or months if the main technical problems have already been solved.
But that’s not all.
The Facebook pair also hinted that WhatsApp on iPad may soon be supported.
However, they didn’t guarantee this.
And importantly, there’s no confirmation of exactly when.
All Will said was: “We’ve love to support WhatsApp on iPad!
“Getting multi-device right will make it possible for us to build things like that.”
It would mean that users could enjoy the same WhatsApp account on an iPhone and iPad.
That’s also handy for people who use an iPad for work purposes, especially owners of powerful models like the new iPad Pro.
