Floyd Mayweather vs Serafim Todorov- Sheer Controversy
19-year-old Floyd Mayweather secured his spot as a semi-finalist by beating every single opponent on his way. However, Bulgarian boxer Todorov stopped his run and Mayweather had to depart with a bronze medal on his shoulder. Serafim Todorov had more experience on his corner and could go to the distance with Mayweather.
However, a young ‘Pretty Boy’ appeared to be more dominant and thoroughly outclassed his rival in the squared circle.
Mayweather landed several significant strikes and could successfully deflect Serafim Todorov’s best shots. But it wasn’t enough to have the last laugh.
Maybe a stoppage win could have brought the game in Mayweather’s favor. But it didn’t happen and judges scored the contest as 10-9 in the Bulgarian boxer’s favor. Nevertheless, destiny took a different turn and Mayweather ended up becoming a billionaire boxer.
Meanwhile, Todorov could only have 7 fights as a professional, without any monumental achievement in the ride. Several reports have cited him to earn $435/monthly pension.
On the other hand, 44-year-old Floyd Mayweather has retired as an active boxer but continues to accept exhibition bouts against Internet stars.
