“Next Viral Tik Tok Dance”: Husband Alexis Ohanian on Serena Williams’ Victory Dance at French Open 2021
After posting nervy wins in her two opening rounds, Serena Williams finally got her act together on Friday as she trounced fellow American Danielle Rose Collins in straight sets to storm into the fourth round at Roland-Garros.
So pleasing was the performance against her 50th-ranked opponent, not just for the spectators but also for herself, that the 23-time Grand Slam champion couldn’t help herself from breaking into an impromptu jig during the 6-4, 6-4 win.
And, as expected, the clip of the champion shaking her legs went viral on social media as it was liked and shared a million times quite literally.

Also pleased as punch with Serena making the Round-of-16 was her husband and self-made global investor Alexis Ohanian.

He shared the clip on his Twitter page, tagging it with a title saying, “This should be the next viral Tik Tok dance.”
During an on-court chat with former Grand Slam champion Marion Bartoli after her resounding win, the 39-year-old champion again broke into the same jib when reminded that she is the only player in the history of tennis to have won the singles and doubles championships in all four Grand Slams as well as the Olympics.
Serena was at her dominant best during her third-round win at French Open
Coming into the French Open with just two wins from three matches since her return to the Tour following the disappointing semi-final loss to Naomi Osaka at the Australian Open, Serena wasn’t expected to shine at Roland-Garros.
She lost her comeback match, which was also the 1000th of her career, to unheralded Argentine Nadia Podoroska in Rome.
The veteran followed up with a fourth-round exit at WTA Parma after losing in straight sets to Czech star Katerina Siniakova.

Even in her Roland-Garros opener, she blew a 5-2 lead in the first set against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu through a plethora of unforced errors, but recovered to win it after a closely-fought tiebreak.

However, Serena found her groove in the second set to eventually come away with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win.
She also dropped a set in her second-round victory over another Romanian star Mihaela Buzharnescu.
