Piers Morgan’s wife ‘begs TV bosses to give him job’ after infamous Good Morning Britain exit
Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden is desperate for her man to return to work full-time after he sensationally quit Good Morning Britain in March.
The broadcaster, 56, caused quite a stir when he stormed off the ITV show live on air over a row about Meghan Markle’s remarks during her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying he ‘didn’t believe a word’ the Duchess had said.
The programme received more than 40,000 complaints to regulator Ofcom, with the former Britain’s Got Talent judge opting to depart from the morning show.
But partner Celia would be happy to have their home to herself again during the daytime as he’s now got his energy back thanks to some time off.
Celia told The Sun: ‘Well, I always think of that famous quote, “Behind every great man, there’s a woman rolling her eyes” — I am that woman.
‘Being married to Piers is basically one very long eye roll. But what people don’t realise about Piers is that he’s usually very quiet at home because he’s exhausted himself on whatever interview he’s been doing.

‘This is the only reason I am sad about him leaving GMB — well, that and the fact I wake up and there he is, staring back at me morning after morning.’
Meanwhile, former This Morning host Richard Madeley has joked Piers ‘hasn’t quite left the building’ over Good Morning Britain’s bid for a National Television Award.
During Friday’s instalment of GMB a highlights reel showed some of the most memorable moments from the last 12 months – including an appearance from Captain Sir Tom Moore and Piers interviewing Britain’s oldest twins.
Referring to his brief cameo, presenter Richard said: ‘Well, it just goes to show that Piers hasn’t quite left the building.
‘There are still shades and shadows of the master still with us.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
