Third A Quiet Place film confirmed for 2023 and we’re already terrified
A third A Quiet Place movie has been confirmed for a 2023 release, it has been claimed.
A Quiet Place 2 landed in UK cinemas on June 3, after more than a year of delays delays due to the pandemic.
It was definitely worth the wait, with John Krasinski’s horror sequel being praised by fans and critics alike – with Metro.co.uk giving it four stars.
After the unsurprising success of the movie, The Wrap reports that Paramount Pictures has slated an untiled A Quiet Place film for March 31, 2023.
However, it reportedly won’t be a ‘Part III’ but more set in the same universe, with John Krasinski, who directed and starred in the first two movies, serving as executive producer.
Jeff Nichols will be writing and directing the third film, with the cast list and plot yet to be announced – but we already have demands for the next flick.
John confirmed he would not be at the helm of the project in a chat with the Hollywood Reporter, but insisted that he’s ‘really proud’ of the terrifyingly silent world he created.
‘Even though I’m the guy who did the first two, I won’t be the guy or girl who does the last one or the last two. I know that. At the end of the day, this world is really fun to explore,’ he said.
‘This is an amazing sandbox to play in, and whether or not I’m the guy to do any more of them or how many more of them, I don’t know.
‘But I know that we’re really proud of the world we created. And the fact that it’s even strong enough to have this conversation about doing more is something we’re all really proud of.’
The Office actor also revealed that, despite a follow-up film not even being announced at the time of filming Part 2, he thought ahead and put a few Easter eggs in Part 2 that will connect to the next movie.
‘Any time I had ideas like [I had on Part I], I wrote them down in case there ever is a Part III or a third one,’ he added. ‘And we even went so far as to put in a couple Easter eggs, so that if I did do a third one, they would connect back to the second one.’
Well, that’s reason enough for us to go over both movies with a magnifying glass…
A Quiet Place Part II is in cinemas now.
