Triller Chief Hasn’t Given Up on Oscar De La Hoya vs. Georges St-Pierre, New Date Targeted

In the recent trend of exhibition bouts, Oscar De La Hoya vs Georges St-Pierre has also found a potential place on the charts. Although several contractual turmoils have curbed its progress, Triller kingpin Ryan Kavanaugh is still optimistic about hosting the fight.

Meanwhile, he has accused UFC President Dana White of blocking GSP from making the move. Also, Kavanaugh has again offered a deal to work with White to stage the event by the year-end.

In a chat with Sirius XM, Triller Chief Ryan Kavanaugh said, “The good news is Oscar wants it more than anything, he’s training very hard for the fight we’re going to have in September. GSP doesn’t stop training, he wants it. I hope that Dana will (ask himself), ‘Why am I blocking this? What’s the point?’ It’s not good for him, not good for the concept of fighting, for any of us, because it makes it seem like fighters are almost locked into slave contracts of some sort, and they’re not.”

“I just don’t understand the effect. Let’s go have some fun, help market the UFC, put some money in a charity’s pocket and give these guys both some money and watch a fight the world would love to see.” (H/T- badlefthook.com)

If UFC and Triller can come to an agreement, we can see massive crossover fights happen. Both GSP and De La Hoya are veterans in their respective sports and can produce an impeccable showdown.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Georges St-Pierre- What a show!

The legendary combatants haven’t fought for years. But that’s what turns it into a 50/50 contest. Despite being inactive, GSP and ‘Golden Boy’ continue to train and post videos of their fighting sessions on social media. Hence, they may not struggle to hit the ground running.

However, several other factors can prevent the fight from happening. Dana White has already publicly claimed to have no interest in working with Triller, in the UFC 262 post-fight press conference. Given that, it might be too early to predict the showdown’s future, despite Kavanaugh’s optimism.
