WandaVision star Paul Bettany has shared his surprise over a piece of merchandise from the Marvel series of himself as White Vision, marvelling at his character’s ‘grumpy’ expression.

When MCU show WandaVision launched on Disney Plus earlier this year, one of the biggest revelations when White Vision appeared, after S.W.O.R.D. put the synthezoid’s body parts back together following his death at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War.

This resulted in there being two Visions – White Vision, who comprised of the real Vision’s body but was void of his memories, and the Vision that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) created in her Hex.

In a new Instagram post, Paul shared a picture of a White Vision figurine in a box, with the character’s picture plastered on the side.

The actor noted that White Vision’s expression looked particularly dour, which he found ‘hilarious’.

‘A very nice chap called John gave me this to me today (thanks John). I didn’t know they’d made one yet, and I think it’s hilarious how grumpy they’ve made me. I don’t recall ever being this grumpy… actually that’s not true- I was exactly this grumpy on the morning of May 27th 2021,’ he wrote in the caption.

Paul was poking fun at himself with the mention of the date, as May 27 2021 was the day he celebrated his 50th birthday.

Several fans loved his shoutout to White Vision, with one Instagram user quoting one of the character’s most memorable lines by commenting: ‘I request elaboration.’

‘I swear the Marvel cast always find out stuff from everyone but Marvel themselves,’ another remarked.

Paul recently addressed the possibility of Vision making a return to the MCU after WandaVision’s epic finale, telling The Playlist: ‘I don’t have a contract. I don’t know that. I don’t know that at all.’

‘All that I do know is, as far as this sort of traunch of press goes, it’s for an Emmy push, which is for a limited series. So it doesn’t look like that happening again,’ he added.

Nonetheless, Paul offered a sliver of hope, as he said: ‘I mean, I guess it would be difficult to introduce White Vision and not deal with him in some way, but we have not discussed that.’

Let’s speak it into existence Paul – we need to know what happened to White Vision next!

WandaVision is available to watch on Disney Plus.
