Jairzinho Rozenstruik States He Is Open to a Challenge- Claims He Is Not Just a Kickboxer Doing Mma

A massive heavyweight clash was the main event at UFC Vegas 28. Jairzinho Rozenstruik made a statement with a buzzer-beating first-round knockout win over Augusto Sakai. Interestingly, this happens to be the second time in his career that he has secured a knockout win in the last five seconds of a fight. Proving once again that he can finish a fight in the blink of an eye and is exactly what makes him interesting to watch.

In his post-fight press conference, John Morgan asked Rozenstruik if there is any fight that he wants in particular and what he wants next.

‘Bigi Boy’ replied, “Everybody that is ranked above me it does not matter what style. If this guy is a wrestler, then I have to wrestle and I have to do my kickboxing. If he is a kickboxer, I have to kickbox with him and maybe wrestle with him so for me it does not matter. I try to make myself more an MMA fighter than just a kickboxer who is doing MMA.”

What is next for Jairzinho Rozenstruik?

Bigi Boy’ burst onto to the UFC with a perfect 4-0 record. All four wins came via knockout and therefore he immediately established himself as a heavy hitter in the division. Rozenstruik was undefeated in his professional career until Francis Ngannou stopped him inside 20-seconds of the very first round. It was a fight Rozenstruik asked for.

Since his loss to Ngannou, he bounced back with a win over Junior Dos Santos before succumbing to a loss against Ciryl Gane. ‘Bon Gamin exposed a gaping hole in Rozenstruik’s game that was never tested before by any of his previous opponents. During their fight, Gane secured 2 takedowns and had a control time of five minutes. ‘Bigi Boy’ was also outpointed by an extremely technical striker in Gane.

However, training at American Top Team under the best coaches and alongside the best fighters in the promotion will surely help Rozenstruik develop his game. It will be interesting to see how Rozenstruik fares against a wrestler if he were to be matched up against someone like Curtis Blaydes in his next fight.
