‘Windbag’ Horner Should Learn to Be More Modest: Toto Wolff

With the competition between Mercedes and Red Bull, or Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, rather, getting closer with each passing day, the rivalry between the two team bosses is also heating up quickly. The two have been taking jabs at each other in the media, and Mercedes’ Toto Wolff is the latest to deliver a punch.

The two will face each other this weekend as their teams go head to head for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. But who will come out on top Wolff’s Silver Arrow or Horner‘s Red Bull, we shall soon find out, as lights out is just hours away.

Toto Wolff of Mercedes feels Horner should show some modesty

As quoted by PlanetF1, The Austrian said, “Christian is a bit of a windbag who wants to be on camera. It’s about being punchy  – it’s easy to be punchy when you’re on top of the timesheet, but he should be a little bit more modest I think.”

Wolff made this comment after the Red Bull boss told him to be quiet, albeit in a different tone. Horner said, “So sometimes you have to be a little bit careful with what you wish for. I think if I was Toto, with the front wing he has got on his car I would keep my mouth shut.”

How will the Silver Arrows face the Bulls in Baku?

The qualifying rounds were intense, but neither Red Bull nor Mercedes clinched pole. It instead went to Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. However, the prime championship contenders are not far behind, with Hamilton finds in P2 just ahead of archrival, Verstappen.

Both teams and drivers will look to get the edge over the other as they battle it out for crucial points for the drivers’ and constructors’ championship this season.

The Milton-Keynes lead the standings with 149 points with their rivals from Brackley just a point behind. Wolff & Co. would look to reclaim the lead and aim for win as they prepare to zip around the streets of Baku.

The only question remains who will see the checkered flag in first place – Mercedes or Red Bull? We just have to wait and find out.
