“No No No!”- Watch Toto Wolff’s Agony as Lewis Hamilton Blows Baku F1 Lead

Mercedes had to endure another painful weekend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. As both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas failed to score a single point. Team principal, Toto Wolff went through a roller coaster of emotions as he saw Hamilton take the lead from the restart only to lose it fall down to 15th in a matter of seconds.

Bottas crossed the line in 12th place, while Hamilton had to settle for a disappointing 15th place finish. This result would certainly hurt the Brackley-based team’s chances of regaining the lead in the fight for the title.

How will this affect the championship for the Silver Arrows?

It’s the second time this season that Mercedes have failed to score points from a race. The Azerbaijan GP just adds salt to their wounds as both Hamilton and Bottas couldn’t secure crucial points for the team. While Red Bull won the race courtesy of Sergio Perez and create a bigger gap between the Silver Arrows in constructors’ standings.

As it stands the Brackley-based squad has 184 points to their name, while title rivals from Milton-Keynes have 174. Mercedes quickly need to learn from their mistakes and come back stronger in the next race, if they want to win their eighth title.

The team hopes to bounce back in the seventh round of the championship which takes place in France. They will keep their fingers crossed as they wouldn’t like to go empty-handed from another Grand Prix and dig a deeper hole for themselves as they would like to fight for the title.

Do you think the Brackley-based squad will bounce back and take the lead back from Red Bull? Or is it too late now and their rivals have taken off with their title hopes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
