Time viewers make early prediction about Sean Bean’s character in BBC drama
Sean Bean’s character survived the first episode of Time – and viewers are amazed.
The BBC crime drama kicked off on Sunday night with the actor playing newly-imprisoned man Mark Cobden alongside Stephen Graham as prisoner officer Eric McNally.
Stephen’s character Eric, on the other hand, has to grapple with threatening inmates within the prison while trying to maintain his integrity.
In addition to Sean and Stephen, Time also stars Siobhan Finneran, Nadine Marshall, Sue Johnston, Hannah Walters and David Calder.
Given his alter ego’s penchant for dying in the likes of GoldenEye, Games of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, fans aren’t expecting him to hang around for all three episodes.
One fan quipped: ‘Five minutes in and Sean Bean is crucially still alive.’

Another joked: ‘Sean Bean doing well so far 20mins in and still alive.’
And a different viewer teased: ‘So, which episode does Sean Bean die in?’
While there was room on Twitter for a South Park crossover, with someone writing: ‘Wonder when Sean Bean will get killed?
‘You know he’s a shoo-in for Live-Action Version of #SouthPark as Kenny As Sean Bean “Always dies” #OMGTheyKilledBeanie (sic)’
When Sean’s character, Mark, is sent to prison, he must quickly adapt to his new surroundings while coping with being separated from his loved ones.
The three-part series was directed by Lewis Arnold, who recently revealed that at one point while filming during the pandemic, several of the actors in the production had to take a break from filming as a result of a coronavirus ‘incident’.
‘We were filming in Liverpool during the height of the pandemic, we had to change the plan every day,’ said Lewis, who has also worked on shows including Broadchurch and Misfits.
‘We lost Sean Bean for 10 days and all of our main core cast because we had an incident with Covid.’
However, Lewis added that the cast was ‘all fine’ in the end.
Time continues on Sunday (June 13) on BBC One. All three episodes are available to stream on iPlayer.
